SYSTEM CONVERSION
VERTICAL TO SUBMERSIBLE

Eliminating Maintenance Overhead with Modern Pumping Logic

When a critical system fails, “good enough” isn’t an option. For this project, GWI was brought in to replace a fragmented, multi-vendor setup that was underperforming and difficult to maintain. Leveraging our in-house engineering and field service teams, we deployed a fully integrated solution designed for long-term reliability in the Southeast’s most demanding environments. We didn’t just provide equipment—we took full ownership of the system from the wet well to the logic panel, ensuring a seamless startup and zero vendor-gap.

Turnkey Integration: Delivered a pre-assembled well, pump, and piping package to eliminate onsite coordination errors.

Custom LiftLogic Controls: Engineered a UL-508A panel with open-architecture logic for seamless SCADA integration.

Corrosion Resistance: Utilized high-grade materials specifically spec’d for the corrosive humidity and H2S levels common in GA and FL.

Single-Source Accountability: GWI crews managed the installation and startup, providing a single point of contact for the entire deployment.

Optimized Performance: Reduced maintenance intervals by implementing thermal and seal-fail monitoring as a standard.

SYSTEM UPGRADE
BEYOND OBSOLESCENCE

Custom Engineering for Legacy Horizontal Split Case Replacement

Engineered Selection: Performed full system analysis to replace obsolete hardware with a high-efficiency, modern HSC equivalent.

CAD & Drafting: Provided detailed engineering drawings for all required piping and baseplate modifications prior to arrival.

Turnkey Field Execution: GWI field service personnel managed the full mechanical transition, including the removal of legacy equipment.

Precision Installation: Executed on-site base modifications and pump alignment to eliminate vibration and premature wear.

Certified Startup: Final system commissioning and performance testing conducted by GWI specialists to verify flow and pressure benchmarks.

LARGE-SCALE REHABILITATION
DISSOLVED OXYGEN SYSTEM

Precision Engineering for High-Corrosion Vertical Turbine Service

Managing a fleet of nine Vertical Turbine Pumps (VTPs) in a dissolved oxygen system requires a deep understanding of both mechanical tolerances and material science. For this South Georgia facility, GWI executed a comprehensive rebuild of units ranging from 12″ to massive 44″ Goulds VTPs. Given the inherently harsh and corrosive nature of the application, our engineers didn’t just return the pumps to OEM specs—we optimized them. By selecting application-specific materials designed to resist the aggressive environment, GWI ensured these mission-critical assets were returned to service with a significantly extended life cycle and improved reliability.

Massive Scale: Simultaneous overhaul and precision balancing of nine total units, ranging from 12″ to 44″ discharge.

Aggressive Metallurgy: Upgraded internal components with specialized materials to combat the corrosive effects of the dissolved oxygen application.

OEM-Plus Standards: Full teardown and inspection of Goulds VTP frames, with all machining handled in-house at our Griffin, GA facility.

System Integration: Coordinated logistics and staging to ensure minimal disruption to the facility’s dissolved oxygen requirements.

Field Longevity: Every unit was tolerance-tested and verified for the specific hydraulics of the South Georgia site.
